Myrtha Lee Billups was born on November 22, 1934, in Weimar, Texas to Daniel Billups, and Bessie Curtis.  Myrtha was the youngest of nine siblings.  Myrtha was the mother of seven children; a daughter, Angel, a step-daughter, Paula, and five sons; Thomas, Alfred, Ralph, Anthony, and Jeffery.  Myrtha had many grandchildren.   Grand-Daughters; Angela, Helen, Angelina, Patrice, and De Angela, Grandsons;   Thomas, Jr., Richard, Justin and Larrion.  Myrtha’s great grandchildren were:  Great grand-daughters;    Taylor, Julescia, and Janeria.  Great grandsons; Jace, Carlton, and Zion.  She was an over generous, and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, Godmother, and friend.

Myrtha accepted Christ at a young age joining Mt. Rose Baptist Church.  She was also a faithful member of  the House of Deliverance Church, and Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  At the time of her passing, Myrtha was a member of New Guide Missionary Baptist Church.  Her church duties included, but were not limited to: being a Welcome Greeter, a Choir Member, an Usher Board Member, and a Nursing Board Member.

Myrtha attended Weimar Senior High School.  Myrtha excelled as a Private Duty Nurse until her retirement in 1997.  Myrtha enforced education, and meticulously made sure that all her children received their high school diplomas.

Myrtha had a love for fashionable dressing, cooking, feeding, taking care of the neighborhood children, making everyone laugh, and her Third Ward neighborhood.  If you knew Ms. Myrtha, you know she never met a stranger, and loved to feed all who crossed her path.  Her heart was bigger than the state of Texas.  Myrtha Billups oftentimes wore   hats to accompany her stylish wear.
