On June 4, 1958 in Tallulah Louisiana began a wonderful life, and that life was Steve Green who was born to Mary and Earnest Barnes. He was the third child and first son; they were quite pleased. Steve was a shy child and sometimes too quiet, but oh so aware of his surroundings and everything going on. This shyness stayed with him as he grew and began to thrive in becoming the man that and who is dearly loved. In later years he transformed that shyness into confidence that only strengthen with age. Steve was a rock and roller, a smooth dancer who love to dress up and spin around the dance floor. He was always a hard worker whether it was a manager at KFC, a Supervisor for Houston Housing Authority or working at the RV Park, Camping World. He gave his best while applying great attention to detail. But his focus was mainly directed to his family and their well being for whom he loved, provided for and dedicated his life to. His wife Angela and his sons and daughters were the highlight of his life, and often feared that the job was the hardest he ever had but the only one he would ever want. As the children became grandchildren his heart swelled with joy and total amazement from the gifts that God has bestowed upon him. Love, happiness and yes even sorrow. Steve marched on. He wore his blessings like a badge of honor. Steve accepted Christ at an early age and directed his life down God’s path. He enjoyed being a dedicated member at Southwind Baptist Church. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Earnest Barnes and his wife Angela Alex-Green. His memories will be cherished by his daughters Zakiyyah Curry and Stephanie Smith, his sons Isiah Green, Xavier Green, Travion Green and Brandon Alex. His brother Jesse Barnes, sisters Claudia Bomar, Patricia Vanright, Shirley Thibodeax and Earnestine Barnes. His grandchildren Eniya Pruitt and Milan Green. And a host of family and friends.
